Mikumi is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. With wildlife sightings almost guaranteed all year round, it’s an ideal safari destination for those short on time. Within its 3,230 square kilometers, it hosts buffaloes, wildebeests, giraffes, elephants, lions, zebras, leopards, crocodiles, and more, and there’s a good chance you’ll see a respectable sample shortly after entering the park.
Pick up clients from the hotel early in the morning (5:00 am) and drive to the ferry for the boat to Dar es Salaam, then drive for 6 hours to Mikumi National Park. On the way to Mikumi National Park, we’ll have lunch at the Msolwa restaurant in the town of Chalinze before arriving at Mikumi National Park. After arrival at Mikumi, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Maasai village until sunset and enjoy the moments before heading to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
